7 grams of a sample of sodium chloride on excess of silver nitrate gave 14.35grams of silver chloride. the percentage of sodium chloride in the sample

RMM OF NaCl is 58.5, and RMM of AgCl is 143.5, that means 58.5g of NaCl react with excess Silver nitrate to from 143.5g of AgCl.

BUT since 14.35g were formed in the experient, then the amount of sodum chloride that reacted is (58.5*14.35)/143.5 = 5.85.

But we are told there was 7g of sodium chloride in the sample. so the percentage used was

(5.85/7)*100 =83.57%
