7. If (a + b) = 2 and (a - b)= 10, find the values of : (i) (a? + b) (ii) ab.

a+b=2. - 1

a-b=10. - 2

In 1

a=2-b. - 3

Put 3 in 2

2-b-b=10

-2b=10-2

b= - 4

a=2+4

a=6

ab=6×(-4)

=-24
