Transformer

c) frequency

  • The transformer works on the principle of Farady's law of electromagnetic induction. It is used for increasing or decreasing the supply voltage without change in frequency iof the circuit.
  • There are basically 3 parts of tranformer namely, an iron core which acts as a magnetic conductor, a primary winding and a secondary winding.
  • We use transformers to distribute power at high voltage, to eliminate double wiring, to insulate circuits etc.
