given number of girls = 20

boys = 15

therefore, the total number of students in class 20+15=35

the ratio of no. of girls to the number of boys= no. of girls/no. of boys

= \frac{20}{15}=\ \frac{20\div5}{20\div5}=\frac{4}{5\ }=4:5

[HCF of 20, 15 = 5]

ii) ratio of the number of girls to the total no. of students in the class = number\ of\ \frac{gitls}{boys}=\ \frac{20}{35}=\frac{20\div5}{35\div5}=\frac{4}{5}=4:7

[HCF of 20, 35 = 5)
