Given : In parallelogram PQRS, PQ is 8 cm more than QR.

perimeter is 40 cm.

To Find : all the sides.

Solution:

In parallelogram , opposite sides are equal in length

Hence PQ = RS

and QR = PS

QR = PS  = x

PQ is 8 cm more than QR.

=>  PQ = RS = x + 8

Perimeter  = PQ + QR + RS + PS

= x + 8 + x  + x + 8 + x

= 4x + 16

4x + 16 = 40

=> 4x = 24

=> x = 6

QR = PS  = 6 cm

PQ = RS = 14 cm
