What are the two observations that can be noted from the galvanometer reading?

Answer:

When the key is inserted the galvanometer will show a deflection and then return to zero.

When the key is removed the galvanometer will show a deflection  in the opposite direction and then return to zero.

This happens because current is induced as a result of variations in current.
