<AOC is a straight angle.

x= 2y

Now,

Let us substitute 2y in x place.

We know that,

Sum of angles in a straight line is 180°.

Let us assume, 3x = 3×2y.

3×2y+3y = 180°

6y+3y = 180°

9y = 180°

9y = 180°

y = 180°÷9

y = 20°

Now, x = 2y = 2 × 20° = 40°

We found that,

x = 40°

y = 20°

To find ,

( i ) <AOB = 3x = 3 × 40° = 120°

( ii) <BOC = 3y = 3 × 20° = 60°

Therefore , hence found.
