7. In the given figure, PQRS is a
parallelogram. QM is the ALTITUDE from Q to PS and SN is
the altitude from s to PQ. If PQ=24 cm, QR = 18 cm and area of gm PQRS is 360 cm square,then find
a)QM and
b)SN

QM=20cm,SN=15cm.

AREA OF THE PARALLELOGRAM=BASE*HEIGHT.

THEREFORE, AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM

=(PQ)(SN)

THEREFORE, 360=24*SN

THEREFORE, SN=360/24

THEREFORE, SN=15 cm.

QR=SM=18.....(SIDES OF PARALLELOGRAM)

AREA OF QUADRILATERAL ABCD,

SP*QM=PQ*SN.....AREA OF SAME QUADRILATERAL.

THEREFORE, 18*QM=24*15

THEREFORE, QM=20cm.
