Step-by-step explanation:

Paper has to cover whole box surface

So the covered area is equal to the Total surface area of the box

Length = 60cm

Breath = 40cm

Height = 20cm

T.S.A of cuboid = 2(lb + bh + lh)

= 2(60×40 + 40×20 + 60×20)

= 2(2400+800+1200)

= 2(4400)

= 8800 sq. cm

Side of the paper = 20 cm

Area covered by 1 paper = 20 × 20

= 400 sq. cm

Paper needed to cover surface of box = 8800/400

= 22 papers

Hence, 22 paper sheets are needed to cover the entire box.

Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that mary wants to paste the paper on the outer surface of the box. The quantity of the paper required would be equal to the surface area of the box which is of the shape of cuboid. The dimension of the box are

Length l=80 cm

Breath b=40 cm

Height h=20 cm

Surface area of the box =2[lb+bh+hl]

=2[80×40+40×20+20×80]

= 2 x 5600 =11200 cm^2

Area of each sheet of paper =40×40

=1600 cm^2

∴ Number of sheets required = 11200

----------

1600

Therefore the ans is 7
