Answer:

perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)

2((x+4)+x)=32

2(2x+4)=32

4x+8=32

4x=24

x=6=breadth

a)length =x+4

b)l+b=10+6=16cm

c)length = 10cm

breadth = 6cm

Hello..

Here Is Your Answer:

GIVEN :

Perimeter of the rectangle = 32cm.

Breadth = x ---------

Length = x + 4cm. --------------(from equation 1)

If breadth is x then what is length?

From the question, we can know that length exceeds breadth by 4cm.

So, the equation could be like this

Length = x + 4cm

What is sum of length and breadth?

x + x + 4 = 2x + 4

2x + 4 is the sum of length and breadth.

Find length and breadth.

The formula for finding the perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b).

2(l+b) = 2(x + 4 + x)

=> 2(2x +4)

32 = 4x + 8 -------(from the question)

32 - 8 = 4x

24 = 4x

 \bold{x =  \frac{24}{4} }

x = 6

Therefore, x = Breadth = 6 cm

Length = x + 4 = 6 + 4

=> 10cm.
