Given:-

  • Rani bought 5 3/4 kg of Apples and 6 3/4 kg of Grapes
  • Raju bought 4 3/4 kg of Mangoes and 7 1/4 kg of Oranges

To find :-

  • Who bought more fruits

\maltese SOLUTION :-

Total number of fruits bought by Rani is

5\dfrac{3}{4} +6\dfrac{3}{4}

Converting into improper fraction

5\dfrac{3}{4} =\dfrac{23}{4}

6\dfrac{3}{4} =\dfrac{27}{4}

Total number fruits bought by Rani is \dfrac{23}{4} +\dfrac{27}{4}

= \dfrac{23+27}{4}

= \dfrac{50}{4}

= \dfrac{25}{2} kg

\maltese Total number of fruits bought by Rani is 25/2 kg

Total number of fruits bought by Raju is

4\dfrac{3}{4} +7\dfrac{1}{4}

Converting into improper fraction

4\dfrac{3}{4} =\dfrac{19}{4}

7\dfrac{1}{4} = \dfrac{29}{4}

Total number of fruits bought by Raju is \dfrac{19}{4} +\dfrac{29}{4}

= \dfrac{19+29}{4}

= \dfrac{48}{4}

= \dfrac{24}{2}kg

\maltese Total number of fruits bought by Rani is 24/2 kg

\dfrac{25}{2} >\dfrac{24}{2}

Since , Rani bought more fruits than Raju
