Relationship between Marginal Product and Average Product

Explanation:

Average product refer to the output per units of input of variable factors.

Marginal Products refers to an increase of total product with the help of additional input or worker.

There exist a unique relation between Marginal product and Average product, which is as follows:

• When Average Product rises , Marginal Product lies above Average Product.
• When Average Product is diminishes, Marginal Product lies below Average Product.  
• At the maximum,  Marginal Product and Average Product are equal to each other.
