Given:
- The area of a parallelogram is 338 m². If its altitude is twice the corresponding base,
To Find:
- The base and the altitude.
Solution:
Let us we consider the base of the parallelogram be " x "
Now, as per the given , the height is twice the base i.e, " 2x ".
Now, as we know the formula for area of the parallelogram.
- ⠀⠀⠀⠀Area → Base × Height
Base = * x "
Height = " 2x "
Substituting the values in it, we get :
Area = x * 2x
⇒ 2x²
Now, area is already given as 338
2x² = 338
x² = 338/2
x² = 169
x = √ 169
x = 13 m
⠀⠀ ⠀
Now, simply putting the value of x
- Base of the parallelogram → x = 13 m
- Height of the parallelogram → 2x = 2(13) = 26 m
