EXPLANATION.

Let the numerator of a fraction be = x

Let the denominator of fraction be = x + 3

Case = 1.

if 3 is subtracted from the numerator and

2 is added to its denominator the new

number become = 1/5

=> x - 3 / x + 3 + 2 = 1/5

=> x - 3 / x + 5 = 1/5

=> 5 ( x - 3 ) = x + 5

=> 5x - 15 = x + 5

=> 4x = 20

=> x = 5

Therefore,

Fraction = x / x + 3 = 5 / 8 .

Answer:

⭐ Solution ⭐

Let the numerator of a fraction be x

Now,

If 3 is substracted from the numerator and 2 is added from the denominator then the number will be 1/5.

ATQ,

=> x - 3 / x + 3 + 2 = 1/5

=> x - 3 / x + 5 = 1/5

=> 5(x-3) = x + 5

=> 5x - 15 = x + 5

=> 5x- x = 15 + 5

=> 4x = 20

=> x = 20/4

=> x = 5

Hence, the fraction will be

= x / x + 3 = 5/8
