We will take the first angle as = x

second angle = (180 - x) because two supplementary angles sum up 180 degrees

so,

the difference between them is, x - (180 - x) = 38

x - 180 + x = 38

2x - 180 = 38

2x = 180 + 38

2x = 218

x = 218 / 2

x = 109

so lets substitute,

first angle(x) = 109 degrees

seond angle( 180 -x) = 71 degrees

smallest angle is 71 degrees, which is an acute angle

so the answer is option (B)71 degrees
