Let Breadth of the rectangular plot of land is B.

then length of land will be 2B.

a/c to question,

a square swimming pool of side 8m occupies one-eighth part of the plot.

it means, area of swimming pool = 1/8 x area of rectangular land

or, (side length)² = 1/8 x length x Breadth

or, (8m)2 = 1/8 2B × B

or, 64 1/4 x B²

or, 64 x 4 = B²

or, B = 16 m

hence, breadth of the rectangular plot of land is 16m and length of rectangular

land is 2 x 16 = 32m
