Given :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 120cm
  • Length : Width = 2:1

To find :

Area of rectangle

Formula used :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+w)
  • Area of rectangle = l × w

Here,

l = length of rectangle

w = Width of rectangle

Solution :

Length : width = 2:1

Let , common factor of length and width = x

Therefore,

  • length = 2x
  • Width = x

Now ,

perimeter of rectangle = 2(2x + x)

➝ 120cm = 2(3x)

➝ 120 cm = 6x

➝ x = 120 cm/6

➝ x = 20cm

Therefore,

  • Length = 2x = 2×20 cm

➝ Length = 40cm

  • Width = x

➝ Width = 20cm

_______________________________________________

Area of rectangle = length × Width

➝ Area of rectangle = 40cm × 20cm

➝ Area of rectangle = 800 cm²

ANSWER:

Option (b) 800 cm²
