7. The present ages of Sudha and Aman are in the ratio 3:5. Six years from now, the ratio of their ages will be 11 : 17. Find their present ages. *

LETS TAKE SUDHAS PRESENT AGE BE 3x.

THEN AMANS PRESENT AGE IS 5x.

6 YEARS LATER,

SUDHAS AGE WILL BE 3x+6

AND AMANS PRESENT AGE WILL BE 5x+6

SO THE EQUATION IS

\frac{3x+6}{5x+6}=\frac{11}{17}

=>17(3x+6)=11(5x+6)

=>51x+102=55x+66

=>51x-55x=66-102

=>-4x=-36                  

=>4x=36

=>x=36/4=9

ANS:SO THE PRESENT AGE OF SUDHA IS 9*3=27   AND AMANS PRESENT AGE IS 9*5=45.

Solution:-

Let the ages of Sudha and Aman be 3x and 5x

After 6 years the age of sudha will be= 3x+6

And

After 6 years the age of Aman will be = 5x+6

According to Question now

\tt  \frac{3x+6}{5x+6}=\frac{11}{17}\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow 17(3x+6)=11(5x+6)\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow 51x+102=55x+66\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow 55x-51x=102-66\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow 4x=36\\\\ \Rightarrow \tt x=9

So, their present ages

  • 3x = 3(9) = 27 years
  • 5x = 5(9) = 45 years

Age of Sudha = 27 years

Age of Aman = 45 years
