The temperature of the water has to fall by (53-32)⁰ F or 21⁰ F.

If you want to express the answer in Celsius, you have to do a little bit calculation.

Freezing point of water=0⁰ C

Now, using the formula C/5=(F-32)/9, we get that C/5=(53-32)/9

or,C/5=7/3

or, 3C=35

or, C=35/3

or, C=11 whole 2 by 3

Therefore, the temperature of the water has to drop by(11 2/3-0)⁰ C=11 2/3 ⁰ C.
