7. There is a rectangular field of size 94 m x 32 m. Three roads each of 2 m width pass
through the field such that two roads are parallel to the breadth of the field and the third
is parallel to length. Calculate :
(i) area of the field covered by the three roads.
(ii) area of the field not covered by the roads.

Answer:

Area of the field = Length*breadth

= 94 × 32

=3008m sq

Area of the road parallel to breadth=2×32+2×32

= 128m sq

Area of road parallel to the length = 2×(94-4)

= 180m sq

Area of field not covered with road= 3008 -(128+180)

=2700m sq.

Ans1 = 3008 m sq

Ans2= 2700 m sq
