let the three numbers be

x,x+1 and x+2

according to question

2(x)+3(x+1)+4(x+2)= 72

2x+3x+3+4x+8=72

9x+11=72

9x= 72-11

x= 61/9???

I think the number should add up to 74 or 65 or 92 or 83

in case it's 74

we have 9x+11= 74

9x= 74-11

9x= 63

x= 63/9 = 7

x+1= 7+2=8

x+2= 7+2= 9
