Given :

Three points P, Q,R are collinear

To Find :

Area of triangle

Solution:

The formula to find the area of the triangle is,

Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2} {x₁(y₂ - y₃) + x₂ (y₃ - y₁) + x₃  (y₁ - y₂)}

Collinear points

    Collinear points are the points that lie on the same straight line or in a single line. If two or more than two points lie on a line close to or far from each other, then they are said to be collinear.

Given that the points P,Q,R are collinear , If three points are collinear, they lie on the same straight line & no triangle is being formed.

So, the area of triangle PQR will be 0.
