Given :  . Three varieties A, B and C of rice are mixed together in the ratio 4:1:1 respectively.

The cost price of rice B is  82 per kg and that of rice C is 90 per kg.

the price of the mixture is 39. per kg,

To find :  the price per kg of rice A.

Solution:

Three varieties A, B and C of rice are mixed together in the ratio 4:1:1 respectively.

A = 4x   ,  B = x ,  C = x

Total Mixture = 4x + x + x = 6x  kg

price of the mixture is 39. per kg,

Total cost = 39 * 6x  =   234x  Rs

The cost price of rice B is  82 per kg and that of rice C is 90 per kg.

Cost of B  = 82x  Rs

Cost of C = 90x Rs

Cost of A =  ?

Cost of A + Cost of B + cost of C  = Cost of mixture

=> Cost of A + 82x + 90x = 234x

=> Cost of A = 62x  Rs

Qty of A = 4x

the price per kg of rice A = 62x/4x  =  15.5 Rs
