7 Two boxers have to fight in a square arena of
at the four corners of the boxing arena and a
rope fence is put up around the poles to keep
the spectators away. Find the length of the rope
required if 2 m of the rope is used up for tying
the knots?
[Hint. Required length = Perimeter + 2 m for

Side of square=30m

perimeter of square=length of rope required to fence

perimeter of square=side×4=30×4=120m

therefore length of rope required to fence =120m+2m=122m
