First off, complementary angles means angles whose sum is 90⁰, when add altogether.

Let the common ratio be "x".

--> 5x + 4x = 90⁰

--> 9x = 90⁰

--> x = 10⁰

Since we have now found the value of "x", we can find the required angles, I.e, 5(10)⁰ and 4(10)⁰ , I.e, 50⁰ and 40⁰.

∴ Complementary Angles are 50⁰ and 40⁰
