Answer:

The area for a parallel plate capacitor is 1000m².

Explanation:

The capacitance  of the capacitor is given as,

C=\frac{\epsilon_o A}{d}        (1)

Where,

C=capacity of the capacitor

∈₀=permitivity of free space=8.85×10⁻¹²Fm⁻¹

A=area of the plates of the capacitor

d=distance between the plates of the capacitor

From the question we have,

C=8.85μF=8.85×10⁻⁶m

d=1mm=1×10⁻³m

By substituting the required values in equation (1) we get;

8.85\times 10^-^6=\frac{8.85\times 10^-^1^2\times  A}{10^-^3}

A=\frac{8.85\times 10^-^6\times 10^-^3}{8.85\times 10^-^1^2}

A=\frac{10^-^9}{10^-^1^2}=10^3=1000m^2

Hence, the area for a parallel plate capacitor is 1000m².
