They condemned it because they were socio reforms and they did all they could for the country. This practice was all about castes in this practice the lower caste people weren't allowed to vote because they were considered ill-literate. So, most of the people in India couldn't vote as India wasn't a well-developed country and most of the population were of low castes. So, Gandhiji, Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel did not agree as they wanted all of India's citizens should be treated equally and they started to revolt and condemn this practice.
