The Indian Desert - The western part of the great plain of India consists of the Thar or the Great Indian Desert which covers western Rajasthan. The Central Highland - The Central Highlands lies to the north of the Narmada river. It covers the major portion of the Malwa plateau. The rivers in this region flow from southwest to northeast; which indicates the slope of this region. It is wider in the west and narrower in the east.
The Island Groups of India - India has two groups of islands. The Lakshadweep Islands lie in the Arabian Sea, to the southwest of the mainland.
