7. Write the functions of given tissue in the following Plant tissue
Function
1Chlorenchyma
2Stomata
3Vascular bundle
4Apical meristematic tissue
Answers
Answer: Collenchyma tissue is composed by elongated living cells of uneven primary thick walls, which possess hemicellulose, cellulose, and pectic materials. It provides support, structure, mechanical strength, and flexibility to the petiole, leaf veins, and stem of young plants, allowing for easy bending without breakage.
Functions of Stomata:
The main function of stomata is to open and close the pores in the leaves for an exchange of gases.
It allows the plant to take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen for photosynthesis.
Based on the weather conditions, it closes or opens its pores to keep the moisture content developed.
The vascular tissues of plants, which are composed of specialized conducting tissues, xylem and phloem, form continuous systems through the plant body and provide transport pathways for water, nutrients, and signaling molecules and support a plant body against mechanical stresses.
The apical meristem, also known as the “growing tip,” is an undifferentiated meristematic tissue found in the buds and growing tips of roots in plants. Its main function is to trigger the growth of new cells in young seedlings at the tips of roots and shoots and forming buds.
Answer:
4. Apical meristem, found just below the surface of the branches and roots furthest from the center of the plant, is continually dividing. Some cells divide into more meristematic cells, while other cells divide and differentiate into structural or vascular cells. There are two apical meristem locations in most plants. The shoot apical meristem is found in the tips of plants. This apical meristem is responsible for creating cells and growth to drive the plant into the light and air, where it can photosynthesize and exchange built up gases.
1. Collenchyma, in plants, support tissue of living elongated cells with irregular cell walls. Collenchyma cells have thick deposits of cellulosein their cell walls and appear polygonal in cross section. The strength of the tissue results from these thickened cell walls and the longitudinal interlocking of the cells
2. stomata stores chlorophyll that help in the formation of food in presence of sunlight.
3.vascular bundle is a part of the transport system in vascular plants. The transport itself happens in vascular tissue, which exists in two forms: xylem and phloem. Both these tissues are present in a vascular bundle, which in addition will include supporting and protective tissues.
