(i) 5x−2y=10

ifx=05(0)−2(y)=10⇒y=−5∣∣∣∣∣∣∣∣ify=05(x)−2(0)=105x=10⇒x=2

∴ The two solutions are (0,−5) and (2,0)

(ii) −4x+3y=24

ifx=03y=12⇒y=4∣∣∣∣∣∣ify=0−4x=12⇒x=−3

∴ The two solution are (0,4) and (−3,0)

(iii) 2x+3y=24

ifx=03y=24⇒y=8∣∣∣∣∣∣ify=02x=24⇒x=12

∴ The two solution are (0,8) and (12,0)
