7/y-2/x=5  and  8/y+7/x=15

Ans.

x=1 , y=1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 1/y=a and 1/x=b. So,

7a-2b=5                                                                    .................(i)

8a+7b=15                                                                  .................(ii)

On multiplying (i) by 7 and (ii) by 2 and adding we get,

     49a-14b=35

     16a+14b=30

            65a=65

                a = 1

Putting a=1 in equ. (i) we get,

           7-2b= 5

              b   = 1

Now,

     a=1/y=1

     y=1    and,

     b=1/x=1

     x=1
