7 years ago Varun 'sage was 5 times the age of Swati 's age.3 years hence Swati 'sage will be 2/5 of Varun 's age.Find their present age

let Varun's age be x.
and Swathi's age be y.
From the Ques:
x-7=5(y-7)---------------------(1)
y+3=2x/5----------------------(2)
From (1):
x-7=5y-35
x+28=5y-----------------------(3)
From (2):
5y+3=2x
5y=2x-3-------------------------(4)
Substituting the value of 5y in (4):
x+28=2x-3
28+3=x
∴x=31.
5y=59
∴y=59/5=11.8.
