70 cm long wire is cut into 2 parts such that first part is equal to two fifth of the second part, then the length of smaller part is

let the second part = x

first part = 2/5 of x

x + 2x/5 = 70

7x/5 = 70

x = 50

so one part is 50

another part = 70 - 50 = 20

the length of the smaller part is 20
