Solution :

_____________________________________________________________

Given :

729 = 3^{n-1}

_____________________________________________________________

To Find :

The value of n,.

_____________________________________________________________

We know that,.

⇒ 729 = 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3  (By prime factorization method),.

⇒ 729 = 3^6

As,

⇒ 729 = 3^{n-1}

Hence,

3^{n-1} = 3^6

As, base is common,.

⇒ n - 1 = 6

⇒ n = 6 + 1

⇒ ∴ n = 7
