let breadth=b

and let lenght =b+5

area=lenght*breadth

594=b(b+5)

b^2+5b=594

b^2+5b-594=0

b(b + 27) - 22(b + 27) =0

on solving it as a quadratic equation

(alternate method is to guess the values)

b=22

therefore

lenght=27

Length = Breadth + 5

lb = 594....(1)

(b + 5)b = 594

b2 + 5b - 594 = 0

b2 +27b - 22b -594 =0

b(b + 27) - 22(b + 27) =0

(b +27)(b -22) =0

b= -27 or b= 22

WE CAN USE ONLY 22 because breadth cannot be negative..

SUBSTITUTE b =22 in (1)

l * 22 = 594

l = 594 / 22

l= 27 metres

SO THE LENGTH IS 27 METRES AND BREADTH IS 22 METRES.
