IRMS = Ipk / √2 = 2 / 1.414 = 1.414 or √2 amperes
This is because we get the peak value by multiplying the RMS value with square root of 2 (or 1.414):
Ipk = IRMS x √2
The same formulas can be used for voltage.
By the way, it’s not “Alternative Current” but “Alternating Current”.
Alternative current would mean something like “another current” or “another optional current” (as in “besides AC current, we have an alternative DC current available”), while alternating current is a current which alternates or changes direction (repeatedly)
