Let the total no of students be x

According to question,
2 students will give an increase of 5%

Then x no of students will make 100%

5% of x = 2

X=2*100/5

X=200/5

X=40

So total no of students is 40

Correct Question :

75% of the students in a class passed an exam .If two more students had passed the exam 80% would have been successful . How many students are there in the class

Solution:

Let x be the number of students .

we , are given that 75 % of students In class passed exam.

Now, we are given that if the two more students have passed the exam 80% would have been successful.

 =  >  \frac{75}{100} x + 2 =  \frac{80}{100} x \\  =  > 2 =  \frac{80}{100} x -  \frac{75}{100} x \\  =  > 2 =  \frac{5}{100} x \\  \\  =  > 2 \times  \frac{100}{5}  = x \\  =  >  x = 40

Hence , there are 40 students in the class.
