Let the number of students who passed be P and the strength of the class be T.

Now, we know the passing ratio is 75%.

Hence we have our first equation:

P/T = 0.75

and we know if 2 more passed, the percentage would have been 80%. So,

(P+2)/T = 0.8

we have 2 eqns and 2 variables. Solving for the strength of the class we get T as 40.

Hence T=40.

Find the difference in percentage:

80 - 75 = 5%

Find the total number of students in the class:

Difference in percentage = 5%

Difference in number of students = 2

5% = 2

1% = 2 ÷ 5 = 2/5

100% = 2/5 x 100 = 40

Answer: There are 40 students in the class
