Answer:6:5

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no. of students be x in a and b in y

so x + y = 990

    x = 990 - y                                         (1)

and according to question,

x - 5x/100 = y + 14y / 100

⇒19x /20 = 57y / 50

on multiplying the equation by 10

⇒19x/2 = 57y/5

⇒5(19x) = 2(57y)

⇒95x =114y                                            (2)

on using substitution method,

95(990 - y)= 114y

⇒114y = 94050 - 95y

⇒114y + 95y = 94050

⇒209y = 94050

⇒ y = 450

now,

x = 990 - y

⇒ x = 990 - 450

      = 540

ratio = 540/450

       = 6/5

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1. A is decreased by 5%=A(95%)

2. B is increased by 14%=B(114%)

A/B =114/95

A/B=6/5(19*6/19*5)

therefore 6:5 ans...
