According to me

 \sqrt{76}  =  \sqrt{4\times17 }   \\

here 4 is perfect square so we can get root of 4

 \sqrt{76}  = 2 \sqrt{17}

Now value of √76 is 4.12 approx

 \sqrt{76}  = 2 \times 4.12 \\   \boxed{\sf \green  {\sqrt{76} = 8.76 \: approx.}}

Answer:

8,72 (rounded)

Step-by-step explanation:

You should think like following: Which number do I have to multiply with itself to get 76. If the number was 81, 49 etc. you could've found it easily because many people know that 81 is 9x9 and 49 is 7x7. But since 76 is not that kind of a number, I would recommend using a calculator. Or if you are good in maths, you could just think like following: 76 is between 81 and 64 which are 9x9 and 8x8. It is closer to 81, so it probably is something bigger than 8,5. I personally used a calculator to answer you as fast as possible and got the answer 8,71779788... (rounded 8,72)
