Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

78-6=72

114-6= 108

141-6= 135

Then 72= 2×2×2×3×3

108= 2×2×3×3×3

135= 3×3×3×5

H.C.F.= 3×3=9

So the answer is 9 ☺️

it is given that,

  • number of books = 78
  • number of crayons = 114
  • number of notebooks = 141

a/c to question,

6 are left undistributed in each.

so, we subtract 6 from each and then find the HCF of the resultant numbers.

i.e., (78 - 6) = 72, (114 - 6) = 108 and (141 - 6) = 135

now find HCF of 72, 108 and 135

first find prime factors of each number.

72 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

108 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3

135 = 3 × 3 × 3 × 5

highest common factors = 3 × 3 = 9

hence, HCF = 9

so, total number of children in class = 9
