Given - Volume : 8.4 liter
Temperature : 24° C
Weight : 7 gram
Find - Pressure of gas
Solution - Taking the value of gas constant 0.082 L atm/mol K.
Using ideal gas equation to find pressure of gas under given conditions. The relation is P*V = n*R*T. Here, p is pressure, v is volume, n is number of moles, R is gas constant and T is temperature.
Firstly finding number of moles by the formula weight/molecular weight.
Number of moles = 7/28
Number of moles = 1/4
Number of moles = 0.25
Temperature of 24° C in Kelvin = 297 Kelvin
Keeping the values in ideal gas equation -
P = nRT/V
P = 0.25*0.082*297/8.4
P = 0.72 atm
Hence, pressure of gas is 0.72 atm
