Area of circle =πr²

= 22/7 × 4²

= 50.2 cm²

Area of square= 3²

= 9

Area of shaded region

= 50.2 - 9

= 41.2 cm²

Given

  • Radius of circle = 4 cm
  • Side of square = 3 cm

To Find :

  • Area of shaded region

Solution :

 \bf Area_{region} = Area_{circle} - Area_{square} \\  \\  \bf Area_{region} = \pi {r}^{2}  -  {a}^{2}  \\  \\  \tt \implies \frac{22}{7} \times  {4}^{2}  -  {3}^{2}   \\  \\ \tt \implies  \frac{22}{7}   \times 16 - 9 \\  \\ \tt \implies \frac{352}{7}  - 9 \\  \\ \tt \implies \frac{352 - 63}{7}  \\  \\ \tt \implies \frac{289}{7}  \\  \\ \tt \implies41.28 \\  \\ \large  \underline{\bf \green{ Area \:  of \:  shaded \:  region  \: is  \: 41.28 \:  {cm}^{2} }}
