Question

7th June 2017.

Dear diary,

Today I woke up to a warm breeze juggling through the individual follicles of my hair. The wing gushing past my dry eyes as I pull my curtains up. It was the most nostalgic moment I could ever dream up. “Eshoo?”, my mother smiled sweetly, greeting my sweaty body with a love-filled hug. I squeezed her tighter than she could take in the scorching heat of the morn. “Alright, alright, you’d better be off to school with your dad! I need to leave for work now, love you!”, she rushed out of the room after kissing me gently on my forehead, rambling with her words. I rolled up my curtains and glanced at the clock. The time was 8:40! I must’ve lost track of time! I ran up to the door, my shirt half buttoned, and my skirt hanging on my waist, and dragged my brother and my dad into the car.

We ended up coming to school at 9:30! What a wonderful day to have a 1-hour traffic block and TWO license checks! The rest of the school day was sweaty skin and moaning about the weather.

Dear diary,

I'm finally home from a burning hot day full of hot air and thirst so quenching that you can feel the molecules of your throat burning up and disappearing into the warm air drying it up. My father greets me with a smile and a glass of milk. Cold milk. I was desperate to take hold of it and slide it down my sizzling throat. I was thinking about only this 700ml cup of milk. I grab it and relieve myself from the torture I went through in lessons without a water bottle. Oh, the pleasure was indescribable it was exhilarating. Just exhilarating.

After I passionately but slowly, savored my milk, I resorted to my bedroom to finish my math's paper. “ok,” I thought, “what is 43 times – wait does a zebra ever wonders if it’s black on white or white on black?” I was getting carried away. Although … aren’t zebras cute! Wait I know! “pictures of zebras” I typed into the search bar. “i’ll do it later I have soo much time!”i thought, stupidly! I lay on my computer. Snoring like a pig, and I wake to find the time is 1:30 am!

And so that was the hottest day of my life and also the longest I've slept!
