Answer:

1) Fill in the blanks:-

a) Electromagnet

b) Electo Fuse

c) Closed circuit

d) Iron armature

e) Electromagnets

2) Short answer questions:-

1)A solenoid is a coil of insulated or enameled wire wound on a rod-shaped form made of solid iron, solid steel,or powdered iron. When current flows in the coil, most of the resulting magnetic flux exists within the core material.

2) The term 'magnetic effect of electric current' means that an electric current flowing in a wire produces a magnetic field around it . ... The region surrounding a magnet , in which the force of magnet can be detected is said to have a magnetic field.

3) The contact screw, spring (helping the iron strip to move, while attracting and detaching from the electromagnet), wires, battery and the switch are other parts in an electric bell.

4) The electromagnet consists of two coils, each wound on a soft iron core fixed to the poles of a strong permanent horse-shoe magnet. To increase the power of your electromagnet, use a stronger battery. An industrial electromagnet is currently being used at the junkyard.

5) The strength of an electromagnet depends on: The strength of the current passing through the coil, the greater the current, the greater the strength.
