Have a look at the solution. Hope it helps. ^_^

 \frac{7x + 1}{3x - 5}  =  \frac{ - 5}{7}  \\  \\ by \: cross \: multiplying \:  -  \\  \\ 7(7x + 1) =  - 5(3x - 5) \\  \\ 49x + 7 =  - 15x + 25 \\  \\ 49x + 15x = 25 - 7 \\  \\ 64x = 18 \\  \\ x =  \frac{18}{64}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{9}{32}  \\  \\ x = 0.28

7x+1/3x-5=-5/7

Doing cross multiplication

49x+7=-15x+25

49x+15x=25-7

64x=18

x=18/64

x=9/32
