Answer:

given quadratic equation 7x + 1 = 6x²

=> 6x² - 7x - 1 = 0

formula used x = [- b ± √(b²- 4ac)] / 2a

a = 6, b = -7 and c = -1

=> [-(-7) ± √{(-7)² - (4(6)(-1)}] / 2×6

=> [7 ± √{49 - (-24)}] / 12

=> [7 ± √(49 + 24)]/12

=> (7 ± √73)/12

=> (7 ± 8.54) / 12

=> (7 + 8.54) / 12 => 1.295

=> (7 - 8.54) / 12 => - 0.128

therefore solution is x = 1.285 and x = -0.128

Answer:

b²- 4ac

Step-by-step explanation:

= 7² -4 × -6 × 1

= 73

X = -b + b² - 4ac

2a

X = -7 + √73

-12

X = -7 + 73 ; -7 - 73

-12 -12
