7x^2 - 26x - 8 = 0

7x^2 - 28x + 2x - 8 = 0

7x ( x - 4 ) + 2 ( x - 4 ) = 0

(x - 4) (7x + 2) = 0

x - 4 = 0. 7x + 2 = 0

x = 4. x = -2/7

The roots are 4 and -2/7.
