Answer:

1 & 1

Step-by-step explanation:

( 7x - 2y )/xy = 5

→ (7x/xy) - (2y/xy ) = 5

→ (7/y) - (2/x) = 5 ... (1)

( 8x + 7y )/xy = 15

→ (8x/xy) + (7y/xy) = 15

→ (8/y) + (7/x) = 15 ... (2)

Let, 1/y =a, 1/x = b.

= > 7a - 2b = 5 * 7

& 8a + 7b = 15 * 2

= > 49a - 14b = 35

& 16a + 14b = 30

65a = 65

a = 65/65 = 1 = 1/y

Therefore,

7a - 2b = 5

7(1) - 2b = 5

7 - 5 = 2b

2 = 2b

1 = b = 1/x

Hence x = 1 & y = 1
