7x - 3y = 6 _(i) 4x - y = 7 _(ii)

From (ii)

  • y = 4x - 7

Put y = 4x - 7 in (i)

  • 7x - 3(4x - 7) = 6
  • 7x - 12x + 21 = 6
  • -5x = -15
  • x = 3

Put x = 3 in (ii)

  • 4*3 - y = 7
  • 12 - y = 7
  • y = 5

7

Step-by-step explanation:

4x=7+y

x=7+y/4....eq.1

Putting the value of x...

7*(7+y/4) -3y=6

49+7y/4 -3y =6

49+7y-12y=6*4

-5y=-25

y=5

Therefore, x= 7+5/4

=3

Y=5 & X=3
